Only Authorized Users may operate laboratory
equipment. If your name is not on the most current Authorized Users
Listing located at each piece of controlled equipment, you may not
use this equipment. To become an authorized user, you must be trained
and approved by the specific equipment superuser. In order to be
trained, you must place yourself on the Equipment Training Waiting
List. Once trained and approved by the specific equipment Superuser,
you will be added to the Authorized Users’ Listing for the
specific equipment.
In order to guarantee a specific time to use the equipment, you
must use the online equipment reservation system. Only authorized
users may reserve equipment that they have been trained on.
All Authorized Users must record their usage of the equipment in
the Equipment Usage Log (Log Book), accompanying each piece of equipment
under this policy. All Authorized Users must follow established
equipment operational procedures as specified in the manual and
related mini- or full-specifications for the equipment. There shall
be no procedural changes to operation or function of equipment with
out consent from Lab Management. All consent to modify procedures
shall be noted in the Equipment Usage Log.
Any questions regarding this policy should be referred to Lab Management.
Failure to follow these specific procedures will result in the
suspension of Laboratory access and usage and all related privileges.
